Biography:
Kari Marboe graduated this past spring from the Ceramics Department at California College of the Arts. She is currently applying to graduate school in the Bay Area and opening a contemporary art gallery in Oakland. More information about her work can be found at www.karimarboe.com.
California College of the Arts (CCA):
Founded in 1907, California College of the Arts is the largest regionally accredited, independent, nonprofit school of art and design in the western United States. The school resides both in San Francisco and Oakland and is well known for its many programs including the Wattis Institute and the Center for Art and Public Life.
Demonstration description:
Kari Marboe and her assistants will be taking a performance-based look at the various aspects of tile making in their demonstration. Highlights will include collaborative art making practices as well as a competitive game of four square.
