CatMacBride - View my most interesting photos on Flickriver

I joined Flickr in 2007 and now spend far too much time here....

I have always loved taking photos but it's become a serious passion in the last few years. I am slowly working towards my dream of making my living by taking photos, talking about photography and looking at other peoples work :)

I find photography to be a great creative outlet but I also really enjoy painting and being crafty.

Last year I gained my Associateship in Photography from The Irish Photographic Federation (AIPF) my panel is here

I just completed a 365 in December 2011 you might like to have a look at it. It's been a rollercoaster ride but it's been very worthwhile :) (don't tell anyone but it looks like it may be running into a 366 for this year :)

I use a Canon 7D with a couple of lens :) and I also shoot 120 medium format and 35mm film .

Feel free to look around. My photography is a bit like the Irish weather..... it's very, very changeable :)

Thanks to all of you (especially my great contacts) who regularly view, comment and fave my photographs I really appreciate it.

My photos are VERY IMPORTANT to me and I put a lot of my time and energy into them. DO NOT use any of them without my permission!

This includes posting them on your blog or tumblr or including them in mosaics on your photostream.

Send me flickrmail or email me at info@catherinemacbride.com and I'm sure we can work something out.

"This is my first ever testimonial. I couldn't possibly give it to anyone else. Strangely, I feel stuck for words, but in a way that's how I feel about Cat's photography. I come and I stare for hours and, without fail, am rendered speechless every single time. Cat, you are an inspiration. I hope to oneday be as creative as you are. Thank you for sharing your work with us all. =)"

"where do you start with someone so wonderful....
i've known Cat on flickr a while now and i met Cat face to face only a few months ago .... and i feel like ive known her all my life.

To say she is an incredible person would be an understatement. Maybe UBER INCREDIBLE ... maybe UBER DOOBER INCREDIBLE! ... all i know is that i feel so privileged to be within her company ... not just to take photos ....but to have a laugh..... to have someone to talk to ..... and to be a friend

her photography speaks for itself ... so this testimonial is all about her ..... she's creative... imaginative ... witty ... and colourful ...what more do you need in someone :)

    I ♥ ya Cat .... seriously...... ♥ ya"

    "catmacbride ... where to start!
I've seen many a macro photograph in my time, but catmacbride's flower macros just seem to draw you into another world of colour and softness, making you want to relax, put your feet up and smile. Her sparkley droplets and glass orb macros are super cool too! Cat's street scenes always seem so candid, yet she is one of the ONLY photographers I know who has the manners to ask people if she can take their photograph. And her family portraits of the young Mr MacBride and old Mr MacBride jumping are just SO FUN!!
But for me where cat excels beyond all of us eejits with our DSLRs, is her creativity when it comes to painting ... her watercolours are pure colour and line, always reminding me of some of Jim Fitzpatrick's celtic art but more fluid. I wish I wish I WISH I could do this!!

A great contact to have here on flickr, and nearly a real life neighbour aswell!!"

"Catherine’s work is very well thought-out and consistent. She is an inspiration for those who want to see photographic and artistic possibility in simple things we see everyday. I am certain she could start and deliver very interesting project and exhibition on anything because she has an eye and she definitely knows how to make capital of the light in every captured moment..."
