Artist, writer, naturalist, teacher, reenactor, workaholic and general all-round crazy person. I've written 33 books, and recently finished another just out, Creating Nature in Watercolor. Most of these are art books, for North Light and Sierra Club, but I also write and illustrate natural history and history, with a side order of historic costume.
I'm a contributing editor to Watercolor Magic magazine and The Artist's Magazine; I was a contributing editor and staff naturalist to Country Living for 11 years.
