I'm the one who's usually not in the pictures.

I have twelve cameras and have been taking photos since I was seven. My first picture was taken out of my bedroom window. It is of a tree.

My favourite photographs are quite diverse as I don't like one particular style or artist. I like lomography because it makes you see things differently and increases the 'who-knows-what-these-will-turn-out-like' factor that you get when you pick up a newly-developed film. I have never got over the excitement of the anticipation of picking up new photos from the lab or, even better, watching a picture appear in the developing tank. It's like slow magic. Having said that, digital creates a different kind of magic: taking a photo at 4pm and unveilng it to the world by 4.10 is an instant thrill in itself.

I'm lucky that I live in Glasgow where the light is great, the weather varied, the architecture diverse, the music scene alive and kicking, the people genial, and the mountains so close that you can get there, snap two rolls of film and be back in time to catch a movie in the evening.

Who could ask for more?
