I originally came on here to share my pics of my wonderful New Zealand trip, having caught the photography bug big style while over there.
Then, on looking around, reckoned it would be a great place to learn about photography; light, composition, subject matter etc and figure out what the best cameras might be and to understand a bit more about what I like in a picture, to share mine and get some feedback.
I gave up on the feedback bit having realised fairly early on it's a matter of personal taste, as well as coming across some 'serious' (yawn) photographers who reckon us happy snappers have no right being on a photo sharing site. Yeh go figure.
I also found that you can have all the fancy gadgets in the world but they won't necessarily help you take a half-ways decent photo.
Then I discovered that, for me, getting a bit too serious about it actually spoils the fun of photography.
So I've decided I can't be bothered with all the poncing and gadgets and crap so I'll just stick to snapping away and see what happens. Life's too short and way too much fun to get that fussed about f stops and apertures, lenses and lights and ultimately the perfect shot (which doesn't exist anyway)!
In my spare time I fart about with art, go out to play with my friends and enjoy my job...yup you heard me, one of those rare beasts who picked the right career!
