I'm a freelance journalist and broadcaster.

I write features for online outlets and report and produce for radio. I've interviewed actors, singers, choreographers, authors, environmentalists, activists, photographers, foodies, playwrights, comedians, and many other cultural figures.

My history with photography began two decades ago with an old Minolta SLR. I still have an abiding love for film cameras: the feel of the celluloid, the clunk of the shutter, the pull of forwarding... it's all very sensual.

Now I mainly use a Canon Camedia E-10 (which I admittedly am still getting used to), as well as my Sony Cybershot (because it's purse-sized, and a journalist/blogger on the go values the compact).

Nature, old buildings, outdoor art, street theatre, food... all things that stir my fancy. I may not be the most technical photog in the world, but I am one of the most curious. I don't think of my work as telling stories so much as providing ideas and inspirations -an opportunity to escape conventional definitions and labels, moving into something less cerebral & more primal, communal, and unspoken. It's in such places where barriers melt, connections are made, and gratitude begins. Sitting and appreciating the moment, whether it's through a photo, a poem, or a breath, is a gift, one that we don't always stop and recognize. Photography forces me to stop, slow down, and see the world through new eyes.

Through all my forays into other art forms -writing, drawing, sketching and painting -the siren call of photography always lures me back. I feel so grateful to be able to share my work online. Enjoy!
