A look into the soul of something and someone, a gift, a precarious balance between sorrow and solace, integrity and beauty... of life as it's being lived. Of hope and of love. I find myself going back to her imagery over and over again, and each time finding something new within each photograph to make me pause. I think that's what art IS... in any medium... someone else's ability to put the world on pause and make people think. Be it anger, loathing, joy, sustaining beauty, comfort... a rekindling of past memories... art is the catalistic for feeling. And that is exactly what Cassie's work forces you to do... to think and feel (which is such a rare gift). One cannot appreciate the elemental impact of her work without enjoying it slowly.
