Through flickr, I appreciate sharing my photography with my family and friends and the world wide community. Meeting poets from Portugal as well as all you photographers from around the world is such a thrill. Thank you for sharing!
I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I have trouble with the viewfinder, but the pixel density of the photos is much better and I appreciate the zoom and macro lenses more and more. And since November 2006, I have begun to learn about High Dynamic Range (HDR) and have been using it as a technique pretty regularly. I use Photomatrix Pro for processing the HDR photos.
For point and shoot I use a Sony Cybershot 3.3 MP DSC-S75. It has four "effects" features, which I tend to use a lot - such as solarize, negative, B&W, and sepia. I also like to stitch several digital images into one photo to capture the breadth of a view. I also sometimes use Google's Picasa2 to adjust the contrast, crop or boost saturation and sometimes use an old version of photoshop to edit out glitches, etc. These features abstract my images away from traditional-view of "reality" photography, but I like the effect and the color and hope you'll enjoy it too.
Flickr has inspired me to take up photography as a hobby again. I copyright my photos as they are creative expressions that add, hopefully, to a unique collection of art. But if you want to use one of my images in some form of commerce or art, please do let me know and I can provide a higher quality original or we can agree to some other arrangement.
Thank you for sharing your works and your comments from across this planet of ours. Together, we can continue to work towards a free, caring and beautiful world - its all we got.
and here are some statistics about you. And thank you:

Thanks for sharing"10th May, 2007

PidderBear says:
"To see the world through Joel's eyes is to learn something new about this small planet we call home. Beauty is not an abstract concept, but a defined reality, and you can see it in Joel's shots; from the humble insects that crawl on the ground, to the majesty of his sweeping skylines. His passions and humor are infectious, and you can see it in every photo Joel posts. He is truly an inspiration! Take the time to LOOK at his stream. You'll see the beauty that surrounds us all, and the paradoxes that only Joel can bring to life."

Mike Pedroncelli says:
"I Love seeing the world through Joel's eyes. His Love and knowledge of Nature and New Mexico are amazing! By viewing his photostream I absorb some of his passion, little by little through osmosis.
One of Joel's photos was my very first Fave on Flickr, and Joel is still at the top of the list of my Fave people on Flickr. Joel put it best when he said we found "true cohorts" in each other here on Flickr.
Thanks, Joel!"16th March, 2006

abqnm says:
"Joel is a prolific photographer with a mosaic of images that surprises you every time he posts something up in here. When you think you have figured his style, he surrenders a different work, showing his creativity and passion for photography.
I am not an expert on anything, just a regular man that enjoys colors, images, nature, smells, textures and people. And I couldn’t avoid doing a testimonial for Joel.
His love of the great outdoors combined with his skill and talent make his site worth seeing it. Life is good! And he knows it…
Peace…"5th March, 2006
