What's behind this camera?
Had a career, got sick with a rare disorder, eldest sister died, walked away from years of hard work/school/career to be "a full time (sick) disabled person", joint caregiving of parents and me, parents got sick, then they both died. Somewhere in the middle of it all, 4 cats have died too. I have been trying very hard not to die.
Along the way, I bought a digital camera to occupy my waking hours.
Starting a national registered charitable organization for Canada for people like me. And trying to maintain/restore the house Mom and I bought together in 2004. If my illness doesn't kill me first, the house just may do it, or the charity.
Long trips and day trips are photographed because I'm rarely well enough to do them. You never know when that one trip will turn out to have been the last one. So I take pictures to help me remember when I could do that drive or trip and what it felt like.
House and yard photos are for family (and me) to track progress. I am just learning this home maintenance and gardening stuff. They're also educational. As in, "Dear Brother or Sister, what is that plant?" or "WTF now with the house?!"
Quality of photography will hopefully get better when I get a better camera, make an effort to learn photography properly, and find the "well" time to do it properly.
In the meantime, this is it.
