I am a self-taught Visual Artist, Iwas born in Granada, Nicaragua. I currently live in Oak Park, IL, USA. I have had solo shows in Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua and the United States of America. My work also has been shown in various Art Fairs, Art Biennials, Museums and Galleries in many places including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Germany, Spain, USA, Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela. I have created many installations in public spaces in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Venezuela. My work is included in private and public collections, among them the Lia Bermudez Museum in Venezuela, The Printmaking Workshop (Taller de Formación y Producción Gráfica), in Patzcuaro, Mexico, the National Gallery (Galeria Nacional) of Costa Rica, the Cultural Museum of the Caribbean (Museo Cultural del Caribe) in Venezuela, the Praxis Gallery in Nicaragua.

Artist’s statement.

Since 1990, art has given me the freedom to travel over the ocean of my memories, permitting me to express my sentiments and through this, dig deeply into the vastness of human knowledge, knowledge which has helped me to better understand the world that surrounds us. With my work, I seek to be a vector of change, collecting images that pertain to our collective memory and that, in certain form, make reference to painful events in the history of my country and of the world.
I have never become inactive or esthetically dead before the period in which we are living, I have reacted without fear in order to say what needs to be said in the moment in needs to be said, although because of this, some, related to the infrastructures that make art a business, have tried to curtail my freedom by censuring my work.

Soy un Artista Visual Autodidacta, Nací en Granada, Nicaragua, resido actualmente en Oak Park IL. USA. He expuesto de forma individual en los Estados Unidos de América, Costa Rica, México y Nicaragua, mis obras han sido exhibidas en varios Festivales Artísticos, Bienales de Arte, Museos y Galerías de: Alemania, Argentina, Belgica, Brasil, Bulgaria, Canadá, Costa Rica, España, Estados Unidos de América, México, Nicaragua, República Dominicana, y Venezuela. Ha realizado varias Intervenciones Artísticas en Espacios Públicos en Costa Rica, Nicaragua y en Venezuela. Artist stament.

Desde 1990 el arte me ha dado la libertad de viajar por el océano de mis recuerdos, permitiéndome expresar mis sentimientos y a través de él profundizar en el vasto conocimiento humano, conocimiento que me ayudará a comprender mejor el mundo que nos rodea. Con mi obra busco ser un vector de cambio, recolectando imágenes que pertenecen a la memoria colectiva y que en cierta forma hacen referencia a los pasajes dolorosos de la historia de mi país y del mundo.
Jamás me he quedado inerte o estéticamente muerto ante el tiempo que vivimos, he reaccionado sin miedo a decir lo que se tiene que decir en el momento que se tiene que hacer, aunque por ello se trate de silenciar mi libertad por la censura de ciertas personas relacionadas con infraestructuras que hacen del arte un ¨negocio¨.
