I took pictures on film with a SLR for several years. After a longish break, on my birthday in 2005 I was given my first digital camera, and the fun started all over again.

I feel like subscribing to Garry Winogrand's points of view on photography, as exposed in this great interview. Such as, [in] the end, maybe the correct language [to describe what is like to take a photograph] would be how the fact of putting four edges around a collection of information or facts transforms it. A photograph is not what was photographed, it's something else.
Thom Hogan has some nice points. Take a look at this gallery of fake comments. The comments are for real on this great classic. Read this comment to this fantastic photo, and consider that this beautiful photo of a beautiful piece of architecture can be met with comments like this one. Or this photo gets this beating.

Ad un tratto ho notato un altro fotografo che mentre componeva i suoi scatti emanava un'allegria ed una felicità da fanciullo!!!!
Era un piacere stare li a guardarlo mentre inquadrava ed esclamava "eccezionale quel riflesso sul balcone"........
Dopo alcuni giorni mentre ero a caccia d'immagini ad Otranto il caso ha voluto che proprio lì in quel momento rincontrassi Andrea.....
"che fai mi segui" gli ho chiesto scherzando e subito dopo ci siamo persi in un bellissimo mondo di chiacchere fatto di macchine fotofgrafiche, filtri , digitale ed altre diavolerie tra chi "flickr"
Andrea mi ha detto.....stai attento che da "dipendenza"...o riso e ci siamo salutati portando con me gelosamente un semplice bigliettino da visita con un indirizzo e-mail.....
Ora non c'è giornata che non faccia una visita nel mondo di Flickr ed ho conosciuto molti altri amici, ma c'è sempre Andrea in cima alle mie preferenze.
Le sue foto sono molto personali ed esprimono tutta la sua delicatezza e fantasia.
E' sempre alla ricerca di nuove soluzioni, non ha uno stile ben definito ma si sofferma su tutto quello che vede cercando di trovare l'anima di ogni suo soggetto.
Grazie Andrea, spero che la nostra amicizia possa durare a lungo e che la passione per la fotografia ci unisca per molto tempo ancora...."2nd October, 2007
