I've had some questions from people about the "capnmike" moniker - some people have noted that I am, in fact, not a captain anymore! I flew for another airline for 14 years, 10 of which were spent as a captain flying turboprops and jets out of DFW (11 years), SLC (2 years), and ATL (1 year) to just about everywhere in North America and the Caribbean. The nickname "Capn Mike" came from friends of mine that were not in the airline business, and kind of stuck to everything from then on, including my online persona... so leave me alone! (c:

I am currently a copilot for Delta Air Lines, flying international out of JFK on the Boeing 767-300ER. Copilots are called First Officers in the airline industry, or FO's for short. FOMike just doesn't have the same easy sound or flow as CapnMike... so fugheddabouddit! Besides - in another 10-12 years or so I'll have an opportunity to "upgrade" to captain again!
