Hi there,

I'm Pete Rumney, I'm 36yrs of age born and bred in the North East of England (N.Sheilds) and have been canvas paintings for as long as I can remember. My first artistic creations were always sketchs in pencil and charcoal. I discovered gouache paint at the age of 16 whilst studying for A levels in the early 90's, this progessed into using my favourite acrylics whilst at Newcastle College of Art. All of my recent paintings are still worked in acrylic, an incredibly versatile and durable paint that retains its superb colour over time.
I left the world of art for a period of years and studied business, and eventually worked for a prominent stockbrokers in the heart of the city, although my love for art never went away and again I was drawn back to the vibrant cololurs and now I paint the busy street scenes that I love so much.
