I apologize to all my English-speaking friends but my knowledge of English is by too summary to be able to translate this text and the translator seems to me little suited. The language has limits which the photo does not have.
I thank quite those who please me to visit me and to comment and if I am not too talkative, forgive me, because it is with my photos that I speak to you.

My name is Anne Sorbes and to introduce myself -- I won’t subject you to my whole life which would be too boring -- here are just the key elements.
The most important event in my life was giving birth to my son David. David is autistic. His birth changed the course of my life as autistic children require constant attention, and I chose to devote this time to him. Of course this choice had a big impact on my professional and social life.
Today David is grown up. He is a young adult who in spite of his ‘difference’ is well adjusted. He lives at home because of the lack of alternative living options that would suit him better. He is comfortable in social situations as he has been to school with children without handicap. He has learned to appreciate them as they have learned to accept his difference. These children will not have the handicap prejudice their parents had, and that is important for the future.
My younger daughter Annaelle decided to give her own vision of this handicap through a movie she shot for the Baccalaureat (option film-making). It presents the perspective of a young girl looking at her brother’s otherness.
Out of this came an idea, a bit crazy to be sure, that my husband Didier and I decided to set in motion. We decided to create a therapeutic and recreational farm where we welcome children and adults with or without handicaps. On this farm we raise camels. Camels are very calm and an unusually appropriate mediator. It took us ten years to bring this idea to fruition, and we’re still at it finalizing it.
During this project, someone gave me a digital camera for my birthday. This camera changed the course of my life. I started taking photographs during my walks, flowers, insects; nature has always been for me a great source of inspiration and solace. I started noticing that my photos elicited emotional reactions from my friends and family, and this was a revelation for me. Later I invested in the purchase of a digital reflex camera (Olympus E330) and a macro lens.
Photography enables me to express what I feel and to communicate it to others. It also encourages me to grow my understanding of the flora and fauna and nature in general.
Discovering Flickr was the cherry on top of the cake. It is the opportunity to connect with the world at large, to appreciate and feel emotions through the work of others, to learn and to share.
I have learned and shared so well that some of my photos are now carried by photo agencies and it’s a great source of satisfaction for me to be counted among the real professionals in this field; it is a social recognition I needed to blossom.
I apologize to all my English speaking friends but my knowledge of their language is too basic. Language has limitations which photography doesn’t have.
I want to thank all those who come and visit and leave comments; please forgive me if I’m not too talkative, but it is with my photos that I speak to you.
