Mission statement: "CAMBRIDGE: A BIOGRAPHY". To portray this historic university town in all its diversity: the places, the people, the colours, the patterns, and whatever I can capture. I'm reasonably up to the task because I've lived in the city for 28 years -- both as a part of the gown and the town.
My latest published work is in "The University of Cambridge: an 800th Anniversary Portrait" by Peter Pagnamenta (editor, 2008), Third Millenium Publishing, London.

NRG Photos says:
"I was very fortunate to encounter the wide and varied photo stream of Sir Cam very early during my time with Flickr, and thanks to him and his inspirational work I believe I have improved somewhat as a photographer. His love of and for Cambridge is obvious in his photos of the city, and his portrait work, especially of people who live with and from the university, is just wonderful - his eye for composition and use of DoF amazes me time after time. Then there is his weird and wonderful abstract work... His comments on my photos have also always been very positive and encouraging. It is a pleasure to see his work, and an honour to have him as a contact - if I had a bowler hat, I would raise it to him."

"I first came across Sir Cam when he photographed the projection piece that I created for Cambridge University in January.
He caught my attention by choosing very exciting angles and compositions and photographing the work in ways I would never have thought of capturing it.
Since then I have followed his work on Flickr, to find that his skills lie in all fields: night time, day time, landscape, still life and portraiture are all tackled will skill and aplomb.
Always interesting to look at; always taken with a real talent for spotting the unusual and seeing beyond the obvious."9th August, 2009

"From across the Atlantic , far from here there is a place called Cambridge.... Cambridge, England and in that city resides one of the most talented photographers that I probably will never meet in my brief life on this planet , His name is Sir Cam and he gives us the places , the faces and the traces of Cambridge. Whether it is the scholar or the cafeteria worker or the war veteran of some unfortunate past Sir Cam captures it with feeling and the love for his city and the University itself. He turns the ordinary into extraordinary His style is very natural and his vision unique, He probably is one of the most respected photographers on Flickr , not just for his photagraphy but for his humanity , Thank You , Sir"

"Thank you very much for your wonderful and very personal pictures, SirCam. I really enjoy and I like to see how your photography is influenced by your hometown: Self-confident, proud, authentic, a very familiar atmosphere... these are the words which came in my mind...
Your pictures are very well observed, showing the right balance of taking the viewer close to your point of view but leaving enough space for the viewers own imagination; and sometimes there's of course a hint of humor inside...
I am very glad to have you as one of my contacts :-)"12th June, 2009

"Sir Cam is probably the contact I've learned from the most on flickr. Although our styles are completely different his composition skills are a photographers dream and certainly something I would like to have. it's often in the back of my head while out shooting that Sir Cam would do this or that with the composition and that is something I will always be grateful for - even if I don't come near!! So my Cambridge friend, please keep them coming and keep educating everyone who like me is lucky enough to call you a contact and friend."

CVINK 400D says:
After enjoying the 742 photos of my good friend Sir Cam one feels a sensation of uneasiness.. and now what?
The fisrt thing that caught me was the brutal contrasts in his photos: Cambridge, Pakistan, Andalusia, pillar boxes, and islamic patterns live together so easy and leaving a nice taste.
Master of colour and composition, of little details that make the difference between a simple photo and a work of art.
Congrats Sir Cam and go on!"15th October, 2007

"Sir CAM and Sir Basil SPENCE
I am the admin of "Quintessential Cambridge" group through which I know Sir Cam not only as an excellent artiste photographer and a pro but also as a resident of Cambridge. I am also a great admirer of the architecture of Sir Basil Spence and an Admin of his group.Knowing that Sir Cam lives in Cambridge I embarked on mission impossible by asking him to go and take pictures of Sir Basil's Erasmus building in Queen's as I was mightily upset that NO ONE but absolutely NOBODY had posted on flickr any image of this landmark. For months on end I heard no more from Sir Cam and I gave up in disappointment, when all of a sudden he came up with these three stunning picturesL doubtless during all this long interval he must have walked everyday around the building thinking of the best shot or maybe he took hundreds of shots and binned them all except of these three. No matter what the result is a great success as demonstrated by comments and Views...
That is because IT IS ALL SIR CAM AND NO SIR BASIL
How can you beat that?
thank you Sir Cam!"15th October, 2007

"Thousands of photos are taken every year of Cambridge colleges, punts, the River Cam etc, but if you are lucky enough to come across one by Sir Cam then you will realise that you have come across an outstanding photographer. His takes on even the most mundane subjects have that origonal edge which ensures that you will take time to study the artistic and technical nature of his work. An outstanding master of the media."

"Sir Cam is on a mission to show Cambridge to the world in all its glory and he does it with such style. He can be minimalist when he wants to be as in “New Cambridge: The Quorum” and other works. He can capture amazing, intricate details as in “Cambridge churches: St Botolph's” etc. He can evoke a great sense of artistic mystery and awe as in “Italy: Fog in Carpi”. Whatever kind of shot he turns his hand to, Sir Cam executes it with cool precision and Cambridge should be very proud of him."

"Sir Cam - Some say he is a man of mystery but to me, there is nothing mysterious about Sir Cam on the following counts:
1. An excellent photographer who captures the images that he saw as it should be.
2. A person of exceptional talent.
3. One who inspires and encourages others to excel.
As proof of my claim, one only has to visit his photo stream and the evidence is in plain sight.
Sir Cam, keep up the excellent work and thank you so very much for sharing your world with us.

"For someone who takes his name from a computer virus (well that's one option!) SC has an infectious magnetism contained in his photography that has me seeking out his photographs almost on an hourly basis. His eye for detail, colour and, perhaps most of all, cropping, have acted as an inspiration to me as I struggle to improve my photographic skills.
Apart from his photographic talents he is extremely generous with his comments and for that I thank him immensely.
If you haven't come across him and have chanced upon this testimonial I invite you to look through his photostream - bloody marvellous!"26th September, 2007

"I usually don't write testimonials but for SIR CAM i would love to write testimonial
He has a eagle eye, a real photographer who picks up small things which we usually ignore in life.. he has great sense of framing n knows very well to present his work
The more i see his work the more i get impressed.. one his best quality is that he didn't stick to 1 particular style of photography.. every time u see his pictures u will see something different.. it shows that he use his brain while taking pictures :-)
and he always encourage others as well with his kind comments n at times he do honest criticism .. which is his another quality.. i think he is a camera shy guy who never post his pictures..
another quality of SIR CAM is that he produce pictures related to Islamic history.... he is a great chap n one of my most favorite photographers.. i am really proud to be in his friends list :-)
Enough Buttering i guess...
Cheers!! :-)"24th September, 2007

"I'd just like to say how much I enjoy my frequent tours of Cambridge in the company of Sir Cam's camera. Clearly Sir Cam is more than qualified to take us around his town. His photography is first class and because it is not restricted to one theme he keeps us very well entertained. Clearly there is no room for substandard work in this stream, and each shot is thought out and executed to perfection.
Thank you for sharing Cambridge with us and keep up the great work.

"There is nobody working in Cambridge today who is producing such an exciting and insightful picture of the city as Sir Cam. He is an explorer in the old fashioned sense, engaging with the people and getting under the skin of cliché. His pictures show us a Cambridge that includes the colleges, but extends far beyond them, to reveal human affairs on a small scale, caught almost at a sideways glance. It is a like a grown-up vision of the city, away from the dull, repetitive postcard image that we see so often. Every city needs a Sir Cam, but I'm glad it's Cambridge that's got him."
