I am a retired 72 year old mother of 5, grandmother of 9, and now 8 great grands. I have been doing cakes since 1959 and have continued to take classes every chance I get. My special love is gumpaste flower making. I took a class from Nicholas Lodge in 2000 and found my niche.
Aside from cake design I am on the board of directors of our local LGBT community center. I happen to be one of their straight members but they honored me a few years ago and made me an "Honorary Homosexual" One of my proudest moments!
I love sharing with other decorators and learning some new technique for others. It amazes me how many talented cake artists are Flickr members.
