As we know, art and life inspire each other. I am striving towards art, but my subjects are all the mundane things in my daily life. And daily life is not always interesting. Sometimes I get lucky and capture a rare expression or a surge of beauty/ugliness in nature. Some of the pictures work because of lighting or the inherent fascination of the subject. Others become simple records of events.

I am aspiring to be able to show the "key moments" in life, while not becoming mundane. When I can, I strive for art. The net effect so far is art that is not quite art and life that is not quite life. It's not quite real, and it's not artificial either. And... maybe that's ok. For now, I'm ok with "keeping it surreal".

I have a number of cameras which I toy with, including a Spartus Twin Reflex, Kodak Brownie Syncho, and a white Holga. I have not fully explored the potential of these cameras, but hope to display my experiments on Flickr in the future. My main shoot is an Olympus Evolt 410.

I am also a lifelong student of the martial arts, especially Yagyu-ryu, Aikido, and Taijiquan. You will see those pictures on occasion.

I visit Osaka every year, but I live in Florida. Both places are great for taking beautiful photography.
