I have been learning photography for a long time, actually since my dad gave me his Yashica 35mm when I was 10. I didn't understand it but I experimented a lot and learned a little. Later I took a class in high school. Since then I have learned mostly through reading books and magazines, studying other photographers and practicing. I finally broke down and took some classes at UT and boy, I wish I had done that long ago. I pretty much carry my camera with me everywhere so I can practice. Most of my photography is of my kids who are pretty much adults now. My daughter is always willing to pose so many of my photos are of her.

My paying job is as a district manager for a large childcare company and I travel a lot as part of my job. My family is also spread out across the US in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, California, and Washington State and I live in Knoxville. Love Knoxville!!!

I would like to eventually get into children's photography one day. Until then, I am still practicing.
