Just your average thirtysomething 'mo, originally from the sedate suburbs of New Haven, Connecticut and a wanderer thereafter to upstate New York, Miami, Boston, Southern California, and NYC. I now work in Washington, DC (the Federal City) and live in the sprawlburbia of Northern Virginia.

When I'm not working my day job, I like to dabble as an amateur photographer and drawer with a primary focus on big, burly tough men (a.k.a. 'big lugs', 'bulls' & 'bullgoons') and their intersections with distinctly American hypermasculinity. In short, I've got an eye geared toward an appreciation of the aesthetics of Americana and authority and, as such, a lot of my work focuses on police events, motorcop rodeos, the pomp and spectacle of parades, streetscenes and various protests or rallies which are staged here in the Federal City. Photos of cityscapes, sunsets, daily life, vacations, friends and other more quotidian images will also pop up in my galleries as I try to expand my photography hobby beyond the 'usual suspects.'

Do note: Viewers should be aware that my photos are viewed by a wide variety of folks, including officers of the law, and inappropriate comments shall be removed forthwith. Repeat offenders will be blocked. Please ask before using any of my pics in Yahoo/Google groups or Tumblr.

Some sets and a good portion of my photos are viewable only by Flickr friends. The rest is commentary. Got questions? Email me at: bullneck [at] gmail [dot] com. Props to Noel (nichbchsr) for the icon drawing.

"What no testimonials since November 2008! That's unbelieveable since Bullneck (Chris) has matured into a fine and sensitive photographer with over 6 million "view'' hits to date! His modest demeanor belies his strength in capturing the soul of his subject matter, mostly albeit law enforcement. His keen eye captures the all too often overlooked humane side of law enforcement, the men in uniform who endure their beat daily with little gratitude. Bullneck says thank you to these guys with his unabashed photography. Bull says he's not ready for a public exibition because of lacking the photo equipment that is up to par with the "big leagues". Mark my words, there will be a showing in the not too distant future, his photographic eye will finally demand the better photographic equipment for large format prints.

Chris, don't put up self imposed blocks. Its, Progress not Perfection! The equipment will come, and then the shows all in good time. You're too good at this hobby, you can only get better."

"Bullnecks is a great photog. Has got one of the best collection of kilted men that I have seen on flickr. He has an eye for masculine, celtic beauty that is rare. Furthermore, he is a gracious guy when it comes to answering comments. A rare breed of man."

"Bullneck's work documents an important, often neglected cultural phenomenon. It has itself become a cultural artifact of the kind historians will return to again and again, reveling in its journalistic accuracy, professional objectivity, subjective perspective, and aesthetic simplicity. Bullneck's ambition in undertaking this project places him among the elite corp of self-motivated scholars who enrich all our lives. And he's my buddy, too!"

"Bullneck's pictures are unbelievable, in the way he captures the perfect essence of a bullgoon. His pictures are both enticing, arousing and a turn on. For him, to share the incredible amount of pictures he shares, of Strutting Motorcycle Cops, is a gift and I thank you for it. Thanks again for taking these pictures, and may you never leave Flickr"

"Bullneck's illustrations remind me of a combination of the HUN and Bill Ward...(which rates MEGA WOOF's in my book). And when he takes photo's of events, I swear it is as though he was inside my mind in terms of the shot choices!!"

"Bullneck is a very talented and provocative artist. His exaggerations of authoritarian male figures are extremely erotic and monolithic. They are strong and without apology or swagger. I wish there were more gay artists like him sharing what they do.Thanx Bud!"
