My real name is Brian Ernst but for some reason I also go by Buck Forester. I don't know why. It's gotten to the point I don't even know what to call myself anymore! :^D I love backpacking and photography and kayaking and dogs and eating pizza. I thank God for the beautiful places He made so I can adventure and explore and point my camera at it. Life is good®.

Side note: I'm in the process of creating my own website (www.buckforester.com) but it's just a one-page contact site at this point. I get a lot of requests for prints... this is not a commercial site so for those inquiring about prints, simply email me at my Flickr email, or buckforester@yahoo.com, and I'll get back to you asap! (unless I'm in the wilderness!) THE WILDERNESS RULES!!!

His images of the great outdoors is true Americana Living and breathing Artwork. They come alive and i find just by looking at them...takes me there. You truly get the feel for how much he loves the wilderness and animals. Its no wonder people flock to his site after a long absence.

    Buck you Rock!!
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and may all your adventures surpass your wildest dreams : )

He is a master in my eyes. When I want to show people photographs that I like, I bring them straight to Bucks flickr page. His work is the the true definition of dynamic. Thanks for doing what you do brother. You are an inspiration to us all, and your photography means more to me than you know."

"What can I say about Brian, aka Buck Forester™? I haven't met him yet, but I've know Brian for a few years from the backpacking and photography forums. Yes, he's a great and inspiring photographer, but what I like about Brian is his convictions. Some day I hope to meet him, but until then...thanks!"

""Buck" Has been an inspiration to me ever since I found his beautiful photos while researching for a John Muir Trail Backpack trip. His Mono Lake photos are probably the most spectacular photos I have ever seen, they are forever etched on my brain. Thanks for the tips, inspiration and for being a nice guy, Brian."

"Brian's Ernst's portfolio is outstanding. His comprehension of light, line, and shadow is ever so apparent. Whenever I need motivation to continue climbing the hills (which are seemingly getting longer and taller) I stop by here for another "Refill." From one fellow lightchaser to another ....... cheers! -Michael"

Brian's passion for nature carries him to unique and beautiful areas, and he has an uncanny ability to capture these areas in such a way that his photos draw you into the landscapes and make you feel you are there. I admire and applaud him for having this unique and rare ability. If you haven't yet, spend some time looking through the world from his eyes..."

"Buck Forester is a truly gifted individual. His photos will awe and inspire you. Each photo in his stream, whether it's a sweeping landscape shot or a picture of his beloved puppy dogs, is a masterpiece.

As I learn and grow as an artist, I visit Buck's photostream again and again for inspiration. And he's a really cool guy as well. He's always willing to share his knowledge with me and offer helpful tips and techniques, along with endless support and encouragement.

Grab a cup of coffee, or tea, or cocoa (my personal favorite) and spend some time looking at the world through Buck's eyes. You won't be disappointed!!"

"His name is Buck, and he likes to photograph.

Well, his name is really Brian, and he's an excellent photographer. His mastery of equipment and ability to see a scene exactly as a finished product is second-to-none.

Brian makes me want to frequent the Western states far more often than I can afford. He undertakes year-round trips (by land *and* sea; take that, Paul Revere!) and day-hikes in the Western United States, bringing back spectacular images in elegant light. He finds and creates images of often-photographed landmarks with such great quality that one forgets any other images of the place, less his, exist, instilling a desire to match his quality. Truly, one of the great landscape photographers."

"Brian is one of the first truly amazing photographers I came across on Flickr. I literally have favorited just about every one of his shots.

What impresses me more than anything is that he does this with film and the images are impeccable. I find myself wondering if he ever takes a bad shot. He probably has a lot of shots that he would never post on Flickr, but the ones he does post are breathtaking.....and that's putting it mildly.

You're a true master of landscape photography. Thanks, Buck and keep up the good work."

"Brian (aka Buck) has one of purest artistic viewpoints I've ever seen exhibited through the magic of a lens. His landscape imagery is truly world class and I find myself gaping at many of his shots for their magical quality to capture a beautiful moment in nature so pristinely.

I consider Brian to be one of the five best photographers of nature that I've ever had the pleasure to view - and it is a real thrill to have discovered his brilliant photo work through the magic of Flickr..."

What I want to said is each of his Master piece on this site is produce with the "B............." Best of The Best...... which is of THX standard.

He is an inspiration to the member of www.flickr.com & the web community.

"It's a day or two since I was confronted with Buck's work. I can't get it out of my head. These pictures take you way from your home to his world. A world that fortunately still exist on our tiny planet. He has the ability to put that world on camera and shares that here with us. That makes him a unique photographer in the style of National Geographic and beyond."

"What else can you say about Buck? He's a one of a kind, unique in this world, I-N-D-I-V-I-D-U-A-L. And he's a mighty dadgum good photographer too, in spite of his "aw-shucks" attitude. I envy his proximity to the Sierras and his ability to hike to and camp in places most of us only dream about. Speaking of dreams, keep livin' yours, Bucky-boy!

    Over and out©,

"I don't think there is any question about it when you look at Buck's photostream. Buck photographs everything from the hard-to-find and hard-to-get-to places to the compositions done so often that they are clichés. No matter what he is shooting, you can count on Buck for a thoughtful composition, powerful colors and capturing a magical moment. Even his mistakes and "problem children" contain genuinely interesting elements. Buck clearly loves photography and it has been my great pleasure to know him and watch him grow for number of years now.

(Psssst, Buck, you are one of the reasons I shoot Canon today. Don't tell Doug Dance I said that, though. 8-D)"
