The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide. We call this cultural relations.

British Council operate in over 100 countries.

We have been working in Nepal since 1959, starting with a Library at Kantipath. We now offer services in 6 cities in Nepal and employ more than 40 staff members.

In the UK the British Council is registered as a charity (not-for-profit-organisation) and operates as an executive non-departmental public body. Our patron is Her Majesty The Queen and our Vice-Patron is His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.
