I've always have a camera of some sort, and always had it pointed at something......
I tend not to set up shots, whats in front of the camera is what I take, I might not remove trash etc from a landscape because it's there. Should'nt be there but, people will hike into a forrest and throw trash down. Sad.
I only adjust contrast, colour, tint etc, same stuff I used to do in the darkroom. Some shots are cropped but most are full frame. I try to do as much as I can In the Camera.
Worked as a pro photographer for a few years in Scotland before moving to the States. Did freelance press work, advertisement shots, magazine shoots, events, concerts etc.
