I'm an undergraduate at Virginia Tech who loves photography. I've been shooting photos as a hobby since the summer of 2004. I started my own photography website around that same time, www.sewellphoto.com.

Since coming to Virginia Tech, I've tried to get involved in media organizations where I can put my hobby to more use. I tried shooting the Collegiate Times, our student run newspaper, however never really felt part of the organizations. One of my good friends, Andrew Mager started a media website Planet Blacksburg back in 2003. It's strictly an internet media outlet, but none the less a very good one. I approached them late August of 2007 to try to get involved and maybe shoot some photos for them. They were more than happy to have me on board. After spending a year with them, I was able to assume a photo editor position. I've been fortunate enough to cover some pretty awesome Virginia Tech athletic events including numerous away football games including Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Florida State, the 2008 season opener versus ECU in Charlotte, UNC, both the 2007 and 2008 ACC Championship games and both the 2008 and 2009 Orange Bowl games. We also cover all of VT's home basketball games and select away games.

Although I favor shooting sports, I shoot some other things for news stories as well.
