.Mike Schmidt. says:
"When I want to see street photography in its rawest and darkest form I take a look through brett's stream of images that captivate the soul of anyone looking for something real. Brett is my biggest inspiration of any photographer I have ever witnessed. When I'm asked by my teachers who my favorite photographer is, I tell them Brett Walker from flickr, then Sally Mann."

"Brett is a clear cut genius, he claims he knows "fuck all about photography" when everyone he really knows he calls the shots. I can't thank him enough for being the best teacher and friend. I would still be stuck fucking around on photoshop with freckles and shiny eyes. Now I drink ginger beer and pretend to take photos with big shiny cameras, and London is not so scary. I hate him for making photos that distract me and make me take photos, stupid walker mind control.
Thank you sir, you are the greatest."10th May, 2010

"To capture the soul of a person with a camera is a supremely difficult task - with the advent of digital cameras and the wholesale cheapness and disposability of imagery, we are saturated with pictures of people's faces.
When I stumbled across Brett's work, I immediately knew it was something different...deeper and more considered. A lack of artifice and yet each so constructedly artistic - testament to the genius of this man.
I find that when making 'personal' portraits of humans, that it is very emotionally exhausting, because you have to give a lot to get a little.
Brett must near to the point of exhaustion....in such a good way.

"Timelessness embodied.
Take a step into the world of Brett Walker, but only if you have plenty of time to linger... if you'd ever wondered what it might be like to see through the eyes of another, and if this another was not some ordinary folk but someone who is a true visionary... Not a visionary in the ordinary sense, but a true seer, a master in the use of the sense we call vision. Seemingly he blinks, and it comes to be. His images are true marvels, and they express so much about the man himself.
I see him as kind and loving, full of a capacity to see beauty where few can see it, and reveal it to us all. In the lines of age or the delicacy of youth, in the battle scars and the sparkling eyes, all becomes equally marvelous in the amazing eye of Brett Walker.
This man sees the threads that tie us all together, through all time. I can only hope that he keeps walking, continuing to show his compassion through the ray of hope that beams onto the human race through his sparkling lens."24th August, 2008

"The first time I saw a Brett Walker photography I had the feeling this place could be something more than a place to keep pics online, someting more than a mere storage. The more I see his stills the more I feel like a worm, and deeper my feeling we're all very privileged to be around here, orbiting, watching, emotioning, trying to learn, and also waiting for next Brett's dose.
I've tried hard not to be influenced by no other photographers, trying to get my own way on the basis of history of painting, and history of cinema, but of course you finally end watching some photographers work. After almost one year seeing this guy, I'm certain there's a few great photographers and there is BRETT WALKER.
Now I've read some other testimonials to Brett and I'm specially glad to coincide in ideas and thoughts with Chieska and Minas of the north, so much that i don't feel like changing a comma. Please excuse my poor english."17th February, 2008

"I've been away from Flickr for a few months, and am now back to explore with fresh eyes... I normally don't write testimonials (I think I've written 2 in 2 years) but I feel compelled to say that Brett is my favourite. On flickr. Thus far. 100%. In the 2 years I've been here, no one has captivated me to the extent that he has... And having taken a break and come back - I feel even more confident than ever that that is the case... I could always appreciate different artists for different reasons, as I do here on flickr - but overall - hands-down - Brett has consistently knocked my socks off... So ther ya go. Fave!! :))"

"Brett is one of if not the greatest photographer on flickr. He consistently creates stunningly beautiful images from the everyday that most of us pass by without even noticing. His portraits seem to cut right through to the very soul of his subjects.
Not only is he a wonderful artist but also the most generous of teachers. He is always delighted to give endless amounts of his time and advice to any aspiring photographers who ask for his opinion.
His passion for photography is truely infectious. My day is not complete if Brett has not uploaded another incredible photograph.
I only wish that he would refrain from posting his terrifying self portraits, they give me nightmares for days."28th March, 2007

Dom Ciancibelli says:
"The quality and maybe the Karma of Mr. Walker's images takes my mind back to another era of photography that I haven't seen in recent years. Reminiscent of Walker Evans, David Heath and maybe Cartier Bresson (in his book "America in Passing"} he captures an essence in the people he photographs that is at once universal and again of another time.
I've always been envious of artists that can develop a rapport with individuals as he does. I've always feared invading the private space of humans yet Mr. Walker seems to be welcomed by his subjects. While he chooses to image the inhabitants of the planet I'll have to stick to imaging their environment. I think he's doing a marvelous job at keeping up his end!"9th February, 2007

the Fingerprint File says:
"In the very short time that I've been posting to Flickr I've had the distinct pleasure of discovering some of the best photography I've come across - anywhere. Right at the top of my shortlist is Mr. Walker. He is a stellar shooter with so many sterling images to his credit that I have to admit - I wish they were mine. What an interesting world he must live in to not only see things the way he does but to actually be able to execute his skill at such a consistent level as to leave little doubt that he is becoming a true master in this game of photography.
And, as if that weren't enough, he's one hell of a great guy too. Without any solicitation on my part he took it upon himself to contact me personally offering not only words of praise but sound advice as well as encouragement. As we all know its nice to receive the occasional pat on the back or a few words of kindness but, when someone as qualified as Brett makes it a point to share such wisdom, well I have to tell you, it can take you away to a very incredible place.
Whether it be a daily shooter or a household name in a world where real talent isn't always packaged with a kind heart [a true rarity indeed] Brett Walker stands head & shoulders above the crowd. I'm humbled to be in his company and am truly grateful to have made his acquaintance. May all the blessings of success be your's, Brett, for many years to come!!!"18th August, 2006
