"To capture the soul of a person with a camera is a supremely difficult task - with the advent of digital cameras and the wholesale cheapness and disposability of imagery, we are saturated with pictures of people's faces.
When I stumbled across Brett's work, I immediately knew it was something different...deeper and more considered. A lack of artifice and yet each so constructedly artistic - testament to the genius of this man.
I find that when making 'personal' portraits of humans, that it is very emotionally exhausting, because you have to give a lot to get a little.
Brett must near to the point of exhaustion....in such a good way.

Take a step into the world of Brett Walker, but only if you have plenty of time to linger... if you'd ever wondered what it might be like to see through the eyes of another, and if this another was not some ordinary folk but someone who is a true visionary... Not a visionary in the ordinary sense, but a true seer, a master in the use of the sense we call vision. Seemingly he blinks, and it comes to be. His images are true marvels, and they express so much about the man himself.

"The first time I saw a Brett Walker photography I had the feeling this place could be something more than a place to keep pics online, someting more than a mere storage. The more I see his stills the more I feel like a worm, and deeper my feeling we're all very privileged to be around here, orbiting, watching, emotioning, trying to learn, and also waiting for next Brett's dose.

I've tried hard not to be influenced by no other photographers, trying to get my own way on the basis of history of painting, and history of cinema, but of course you finally end watching some photographers work. "The quality and maybe the Karma of Mr. Walker's images takes my mind back to another era of photography that I haven't seen in recent years. Reminiscent of Walker Evans, David Heath and maybe Cartier Bresson (in his book "America in Passing"} he captures an essence in the people he photographs that is at once universal and again of another time.
I've always been envious of artists that can develop a rapport with individuals as he does. I've always feared invading the private space of humans yet Mr. Walker seems to be welcomed by his subjects.
