Brent Granby is a community organizer and activist. He is currently finishing a successful mission as the primary care giver to his two daughters. He is currently transitioning from the domestic and the volunteer sector to part-time furniture designer and visual artist.

In addition to being the point person for his children, Brent has participated in developing three community gardens, the Mole Hill Community Garden, The Stanley Park Community Flower Garden and Intercultural Rooftop Garden at St. Paul’s Hospital. As a director of WERA he was the Project Coordinator for the Mole Hill Community Public Art Project Community Light. He was also on the Board of the West End Community Centre Association (WECCA) and is a past president of this Board. Brent served as the past chair of the West End Integrated Neighbourhood Network (WEINN). Brent is past-president of WERA, Vice Chair of the Save St. Paul’s Coalition and a volunteer for the Renters at Risk Campaign.

As director of WERA Brent has focused his advocacy on issues concerning affordable housing, ecological sustainability and livability.

Currently Brent is a Member at Large of the Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE) Executive and Chair of the COPE Park Board Caucus. He is a volunteer community organizer and a Director with the West End Resident Association (WERA). Brent, his wife Anita, and their daughters Safrin and Mallika are long-time residents of the West End of Vancouver Canada.
