And if this is a wee bit gushing, I hope she'll excuse me. I'm writing this at crack of dawn, and trying to make up for not being a morning person."

Because she has 'Dada' after her name; Because she is generous with advice (but not over-bearing; Because she is witty (but at the same time serious); Because she is a good drinker (But won't steal yours); She is a great photographer and is a founder member of Popolo."

"can't believe I've not yet written a testimonial for bdadada, because she's one of the reasons I love flickr so much. She's singlehandedly got me into film with her evangelising ways - each of those 13 or so film cameras cluttering up my living room and draining my bank balance are *all her fault* - and the projects she starts keep me interested.

yay for brendadada - long may she rant on flickrcentral!"

"Yanno.. a lot of people here are weiners. Brenda is not. Most definitely NOT. Is that a compliment? In the circles I run in, YES, it is. She is the Queen of Film and is delightful to discuss said film with. And can hurl a haggis like no one else.
Did I say yet that I really like her? I do, and it ain't cause of the haggis. It's cause she is real.. both in pictures and words. ROCK ON, BDDDDDD!"

"Brendadada is one of life's tryers - bless her, she puts her heart and soul into this but so often gets it all hopelessly, hilariously wrong...

there are the blurry ones (which she pretends are some kind of arty, japanese thing called bukkake or somesuch), the ones of people's ankles or bits of floor- recently she tried to convince me that one of the wonkiest pics I've ever seen in my life was done deliberately like that! (she does make up entertaning stories to mask her incompetence - something about a Dutch Angel?)...and then there is the whole "cross-processing" thing - putting the wrong film into the wrong camera, I call it...

So: Brendadada - incompetence, comedy and cameras, all in perfect alignment..."

    Thomas Hawk says:

"Brendadada is one of the finest photographers on Flickr. Her work has that rare ability to transcend photography, challenge the entire genre and emerge through fire as art -- art to make you laugh, art to make you cry, but most importantly art to make you think. Her particular strength is in photographing legs. Another thing about Frank, is that his art is unique, it's not your typical sunset or flower but rather provacative photography to challenge our new digital generation. I most heartilly endorse the work of Brendadada."

Maybe it's because the pictures evoke so many strong feelings in me. Or maybe it's because she embodies the notion that people who love flickr love photography, and all that it entails. Passion and opinion. A POV (Point of View)."

    Barrybar says:

"Not only does Brendadada take fine pictures, she knows how to present them in a very satisfying manner. Her swing bridge slideshow two set is, indeed, a labor of love, one that required 67 shots. It’s well worth the price of admission. I would suggest you avoid her magnificent food mosaic entirely … that is, until after you’ve had a good meal, at least half as sumptious as the one she offers us. And even then, your saliva glands could play some tricks on you.

But beyond the wonderful studies that her photos provide, Brendadada also has a keen interest in what goes on around in her “village” world, as well as the political and social life of the world at large.

Considering the time that Brendadada needs to spend managing her own affairs, she has very often taken me by the hand to lead me through the Flickr thicket, to send me invites, to point out groups that may be of interest to me. I am in her debt, and I would hazard a guess that so are many of her colleagues and friends. Brendadada’s “village” on Flickr is always a pleasure to visit."

"Brendadada makes me laugh a lot :) It's always good to find someone who understands the funny side of life, and especially someone who takes a photo of it. While not 'technically' insane, Brenda understands my jokes enough to humour me when required, and has even offered me beer, despite my 'episodes'. A member of the community who contributes images, thoughts, laughter and love. She's good people."

When a group member steps out of line and submits off topic work to the Thing that Move pool, she is right ther behind me with a camera while I I put the offender out their misery. Sure, it's a little harsh, but we like it that way."

""Brendadada is beautiful like the night, who cradles the young day in her arms." (Hans Arp). Ha! absolutely. Brendadada is a movement. Rocks, rolls (with punches?), and consistantly makes me grin. She lives in (web)space, not time, timeless buggah! Brain kin, social kith. A photostream that’s always fun, interesting, and tasty to look at, but it’s her words that really light up for me. Talks plain sense even when being totally ridiculous :)"
