I grew up on Long Island, NY. Picked up a camera as a teenager and got hooked.
Bought my first SLR in the late seventies at Arthur Avedon's Photo store in Southold NY. Mr. Avedon, a cousin of that other Avedon, helped me pick out a Minolta which put me out 300 of my hard earned dollars. But I loved that camera until someone dropped it from the mast of a schooner he was working on.....
Years later I picked up a digital, which led to a slightly better digital which led to a DSLR and I found my way to Flickr. It's been fun and inspiring, learning to see, finding my own way with the lens.
