I just like to try to capture what I see, especially locally (the Hagbourne Wildlife group) - generally they are opportunistic, hand-held shots, with identification and recording a higher priority than image quality. I'm gradually learning to take "birds in flight" and macro shots, but both of these need a bit of luck and a lot of practice. The Flickr community is a great place to learn, and I'm grateful to everyone who's helped with identification of all kinds of wildlife - especially moths - just post photos of things you've never seen before, and helpful experts will try to identify them. Brilliant - thanks everyone.

A note on locations: since the introduction of the new photo page (Summer 2010), Flickr often gives the wrong town for map locations. Where I've spotted this, I've moved items on the map until the named location is correct, even if this isn't exactly where the photo was taken.

Equipment: Panasonic FZ30, Raynox DCR150 and 250 macro lenses, Olympus B300 teleconverter, red dot sight (keeps the birds in the frame but not necessarily in focus!).
From Dec 2011: Sony SLT-A33, but I haven't learned how to drive it yet.
