HISTORY OF THE BOULEVARD THEATRE:

Artistic Director, Mark Bucher, founded the Boulevard Ensemble Studio Theatre (The Boulevard) in 1986. We staged our first performance of one play, Edward Albee's COUNTING THE WAYS at the St. Michael's Waiting Room Cafe. This season, David and Amy Sedaris' comedy THE BOOK OF LIZ was our One Hundredth Production. The Boulevard is an established, professional theatre company that stages an eclectic range of theatrical literature.

In 1989 we moved to our current location in the heart of the Bay View neighborhood, only minutes from downtown Milwaukee and the freeway. In 2003, the Boulevard Ensemble Studio Theatre purchased our building. We are here to stay in our community. By being an intimate, 50-seat theatre, we foster a dynamic relationship between the audience and the artist.
