Awards are cute and are usually fun to collect; but I will not die if I do not receive any. I now promptly delete awards that have 'strings' attached and ignore those seeking attention for their photos. Ask me directly and I will respond appropriately based on the merit of your photograph.

A relic from the 1960s, a martial-law baby (grew up during the dark days of the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines from 1972-1986), held a camera when I was 3 years old (okay...the decent photos came 4 years later...), trained as a psychologist and a (Christian-protestant) pastor.

Now in a mid-life switch, I now teach photography in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (Manila, Philippines).

Cameras? Oh, a lot of Pentax...
