First, a note: My apologies, but If you post comments that are filled with numerous large and/or animated icons (one is tolerable, but more than that is just going overboard), I will probably delete them. I ask you not to take it personally -- it's just me. I'm the one who's bad.

Oh, and I don't like crop suggestion notes either. I usually delete them too. Sorry -- and thanks.

====================

Now, why don't we see what some of my school teachers from across the years have had to say about me? It'll still provide you with an accurate overview, because -- really -- nothing's much changed since then. Remember -- this goes on your permanent record!

January, 1974

He seems to be developing "poky" work habits lately.

November, 1974

His reading is done extremely well. Assignment work is not always completed in the time given because of "daydreaming." He can be a bit "poky." I'm sure he will overcome this.

January, 1975

He is still having a few problems with "daydreaming" and not always completing work on time.

April, 1975

His reading abilities are excellent and he has a keen interest in story writing and participating in class discussions. A few mistakes are being made in math, but I feel they are only careless mistakes. Assigned work is being completed faster than last term, but he still has the tendency to sit and daydream.

November, 1976

His use of punctuation and description in creative writing is very good. He is taking longer than usual to complete his math assignments. This is not the time to begin losing interest, as multiplying must be learned well before he can go on to dividing, which is a more difficult concept to learn. His test results are satisfactory, but I feel he is capable of achieving much more.

April, 1977

He fell behind in his division this term. Unfinished work in class was not always taken home to finish.

November, 1977

He is a pleasant boy and capable of excellent work. I would like to see more effort in math and science, where he appears to do the work to his minimum ability only.

June, 1978

He has shown himself to be a boy of above average ability. However, he has done less well this term, and I feel it is because he likes to rely on his memory, and has been somewhat "lazy" about his studying. My advice to him for Grade 6 is to buckle down and show what he can do. I think he would enjoy school more if he put a little more effort into things.

April, 1979

He is a keen writer. His compositions show talent, imagination, and solid story-telling. He should have books that interest him made available to him at home as well as at school. He is cooperative in class, but must pay closer attention to spoken directions.

January, 1980

He is working well, but there is room for improvement. More preparation for testing is needed. Have checked homework on several occasions only, and twice he did not have any homework to show me.

January, 1981

His daily math work is inconsistent. At times his work is carefully completed, but sometimes he works inaccurately and does not complete assignments. Two have been passed in, very neatly and carefully completed, and two were not passed in at all. He is polite and cooperative in class. I prefer him to sit alone, as he is easily distracted by other pupils. This may account for the inconsistency in his work. His test marks this term were 35% and 59%. I feel he can do much better than this and I would like him to come for extra help and also to let me know when he does not understand a lesson. He should be careful to complete home and class assignments.

November, 1981

He does not do his homework on a regular basis. He could do much better. He spends too much time doodling and not enough paying attention to what is going on. He does not participate as much as he could.

February, 1982

His science assignments are often incomplete because his answers lack the detail they should have. If he paid closer attention, he would be picking up those details. If he put more effort into his assignments, his test scores would be higher.

High School? More of the same, with less hope. University? Dropped out. And there you have it. The summation of bonedad and his incomplete, fragmentary nature. Still stumbling forward. Still daydreaming. Still refusing to participate in class.

"David is a very thoughtful photographer. His set "Ghost Towns of Saskatchewan" is particularly evocative, as there is really a sense of the care and respect with which David approaches his subjects. Of course, photographs like the car wash set, the diving duck, and his cat in many poses illustrate that David is a multilayered photographer. It's always a pleasure to visit his photostream to see what he will see next."

"I have known bonedad since he was just a young pup. A lifelong friend, he is nevertheless not one I take for granted. The imagination & talent of this man are incredible. He can evoke words like a poet and his new abilities with the lens and camera are giddy-making exciting."
