Surfing as kids, sometimes one of us would be paddling over the shoulder while our buddy was dropping in on a heavy wave or getting barreled. The kid on the shoulder would do this big pantomime of taking a photo. I don't know if kids still do that. Eventually I stopped with the pantomime but continued to snap the photo in my mind. Not just of the surfing, but the low-flying pelicans and the sunrises and just the beauty of the waves. After decades, I've seen some amazing things out there (I'm sure most people who spend a lot of their mornings around the ocean have.) A couple of years ago I received a very nice gift of a used Nikon D-70 and I'm really having fun taking the 'actual' photos. I have so much to learn about photography but hopefully I get to share a little bit of the cool stuff I've been lucky enough to witness along the way.

"Jay is unmistakable talent. In all honesty, I don't think there's one picture of his that I don't love. He captures the ocean at its absolute best and his passion is extremely inspiring. Refreshing style, awesome personality, & amazing photography to match."
