so, about myself: hello, i live in nj and love taking pics of landscapes, nature, and people. i'm vietnamese, was born in the philippines (bisaya or tagalog ok with me), and love the acoustic guitar.

so, about flickr: i know flickr is this big lovefest and everybody loves views and comments like "great shot" and "nice" and blah blah blah. i like comments too but i try to give comments based on my observations of a picture. so if i comment on your picture and it sounds like a critique, it's because i like your picture and care about what i'm doing. i know some people only like to be stoked and hear about how great they are and i've seen people block me (lol!!!) because i made honest critiques - talk about too much self love. so if i hurt your feelings, my sincerest apologies. :)

i know some of my contacts provide me good honest critique from time to time and they are the ones who i really pay attention to. that's how we learn folks and that's how the world works. if all i get are comments like "niiiiiice", "greaaaaaat", blah blah, i will never get anywhere. you know it and i know it! :)

one more thing, i have a lot of contacts but i'm not a contact collector. i simply make it a point to add to my contact list anybody who adds me as a contact because i feel i could learn from all of you. if you are my contact, i will make an effort to comment on some of your pictures (yes even to people who never comment on my pictures) whenever i feel that i have something to say. if you are my contact and i never comment on your pictures, no offense intended - that just means that i'm not sure what to say but i can almost assure you that i will eventually find one of your pictures interesting and will make comments whenever i do.

so, about my pictures: i photograph landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, nature, architecture, and people. i try to keep everything on my stream very real and not much enhancement to the extent that it doesn't look natural anymore. i hate fake stuff and i don't do them so you won't find that funny looking crap (you know what i'm talking about) here.

so, about explore: haha, explore means nothing to me! don't get me wrong, i have stuff on explore but explore is absolutely positively not an indicator of my skill (or lack of) in photography. all it means is that i have a certain level of "popularity" or "pull" in the flickr community, nothing more, nothing less. imo, 1 in every 5 pictures on explore are really really interesting and the rest are really really, ehem, i'll shut up now.
