A short history of the cameras used: most are taken using my cellphone: the SonyEricsson K750i, K800i, K810i, G900, C905, Vivaz, and currently the excellent Nokia N8.

I've tried the Casio Exilim EX-Z20 (which is identical to the EX-Z80) for a short while, and also took it to Peru (didn't want to lug a DSLR through the Andes, and didn't want to wait for the N8's battery to run out). I'm not impressed with it, it can't really compete with the N8, even. So I decided to get a Canon 1000D -- just to get back to some of that SLR shooting (I used various Minolta and Canon SLRs in the past, but those were analog; digital is quite different). Still learning to use it though.
