I've had a strong interest in photography and art since I was young. However, I was usually feeling just a little outside of the field because there was always a little bit missing. I painted but that didn't quite satisfy me.

I eventually stepped up to airbrushing and that was closer to the mark... but not entirely. It wasn't until the prospect of better and better computers and software tools crept in during the 80's and 90's did I start to realize that I was, at heart, a digital artist.

Photography had roughly the same course in that B&W and color photography was interesting, actual dark room work was even moreso, but not until the film or prints turned to pixels did it really become fascinating for me.

I'm new to Flickr so it may take time for me to collect more of my photos to put into my gallery. The easiest photos to keep up with are ones I am taking currently and on the digital camera. Older prints that need to be scanned in or older digital photos buried on CD or DVD will come later.

My photos run the gamut - usually related to either my occupation or places I live. My strongest interests have been landscape and panorama photography but with a growing interest in macrophotography and recently HDR (High Dynamic Range) imagery.

You may see photos from any range in my life from when I grew up in a small town in Montana, to San Diego, Oregon, and now Northern Tornado Alley otherwise known as Des Moines, Iowa. Photos might also stretch in subject from my jobs wich have been all across the board... camera store & photo lab, music store, musician and composer, firefighter, graphic artist, megaplex movie theater, Japanese anime import, and currently self-employed (which means too much sitting at the computer and less outside snapping photos).

I also have an extremely strong sense of nostalgia for things in my life. I tend to document all sorts of things with the camera purely for my own enjoyment.

So, I make no promises as to having a strong theme or subject line and photos are likely to vary extremely, one to the next, in the gallery.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tools of the Trade:
Nikon F4 with Polaroid digital back and handful of lenses that don't get nearly enough use.

Canon S2IS with the usual chorus of polarizing, star, UV, etc. filters. A few mini tripods, a great old friend of a Bogen 3001 professional tripod (that thing has been places!).

Olympus OM-10 and Olympus OM-1 with another chorus of filters and lenses ranging from reliable little 28 mm, 50mm, 205mm and even a 500mm (plus 2x converter when I'm feeling daring), I have no idea how many flash units are knocking about in the bag? There's more than I can care to list but suffice to say my camera gear overfills an old VHS camcorder bag which is awfully heavy to pack around.

...the digital allure grows stronger everyday just for the ease of carrying and all-in-one quality.
