I'm a guy who's in love with photography and just can't quite put it down. I don't know, it's just one of those things.

This is me hiking through Glacier National Park last Fall

IMAGE LICENSING

BLG Photography images are CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSED
With Creative Commons licensing you are free to share, copy, and distribute the images. Under this Creative Commons licensing, however, there are some restrictions:

- Attribution: Attribution (giving credit) to BLG Photography (or the image's creator - as seen in my website's logo) must be made along with the image's use
- Non-Derivative: No changes may be made to the image(s)
- Non-Commercial: The image(s) must not be used for commercial purposes under any circumstances (unless a copyright license has been issued by BLG Photography).

Let's take a look at what all this means...

EXAMPLE ACCEPTABLE USES OF THE CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE:
- Blog post describing a trip to Ireland
- Online article regarding the growing popularity of digital photography
- A website for a school project
- Someone using an image as a desktop background for their computer

LICENSE TO COPYRIGHT
'Commercial Use' regarding the use of images online or offline is a pretty broad sword. Determining commercial or non-commercial use is based on the use of the image, NOT on the tax-filing status of the entity using the image nor on whether or not a financial transaction takes place. Commercial use of images is only allowed with express permission from BLG Photography. All commercial uses will involve a licensing fee. Fees can be found when adding an image to the shopping cart on my website

All licensing inquiries should be sent to Business [at] blgphotography [dot] com
(brackets added to help prevent spamming - remove them when sending an email or just simply click on the above address)

SAMPLE USES REQUIRING A LICENSE TO COPYRIGHT:
- A marketing campaign for a commercial entity/business/etc.
- A fund-raising campaign for a non-profit entity/businss
- A background image for a website selling a product(s)
- An individual wanting a print for use in their private home or office

One thing to note on the non-commercial provision: under current U.S. law, file-sharing or the trading of works online is considered a commercial use - even if no money changes hands. Because I believe that file-sharing, used properly, is a powerful tool for distribution and education, all Creative Commons licenses contain a special exception for file-sharing. The trading of images online is not a commercial use, provided it is not done for monetary gain. If you find an image that you simply can't live without, however, please clink the link to it on here and then click the “buy” button while viewing that life-altering photograph within my website and I'll be sure to have a stunning high-quality print of it sent to your door in no time flat.

Images Digitally Watermarked by DigimarcMy images on this website have been digitally watermarked with ownership and usage/copyright information. The "Digimarc-Enabled" web logo is a trademark of Digimarc Corporation, used with permission.

Here I am looking a little too intently at something. This was my serious moment for the year
