I started to learn how to fold when I was only four or five years old, I don't remember exactly when. My mom gave me an origami book written in Chinese, and at that time, I could only fold very simple things. I wanted to fold a traditional crane, but I could not do it.
When I finally learned how to make a crane on my own, I explored various other subjects in that book. I then discovered that the book is one part of a series of books. Alongside with a couple other books, I slowly immersed myself into the world of paper folding. However, most of the models I made were no more complex than a bird base, and several models utilized cuts or multiple sheets of paper to finalize the model.
From then on, origami grew and died in me, with these spurts occurring at sporadic intervals.
When I was 13, I finally discovered the technicalities of origami. On the internet, I saw that I didn't have to use multiple sheets or cut just to acquire more flaps for the final model. I was impressed by the insects, birds, and dragons that used only one sheet of paper without any cuts or multiple sheets.
It was not until I was 15 when I truly designed my own models. I always had a liking to sea animals and prehistoric animals, and it was not a surprise that my first original design was a Phorusrhacus, a prehistoric bird, made from a grafted bird base. I realized that it was time for me to move on from folding other people's works and design my own models.
Most of the models are from trial and error. I sought out a more efficient way of designing models without wasting time looking for the right folds. I then discovered how to assign flaps using box-pleating, but I found it very commonplace and not very efficient (too many layers).
Though I am a relatively recent addition to the origami community, I hope that people will stop by and appreciate what I make.
And one last thing, you are not allowed to use or redistribute my photos/diagrams/crease patterns for commercial purposes without permission.
