For starters I enjoy photography. I'm an amateur and plan to keep it that way although I'm always looking to improve :-) I generally enjoy taking nature and landscape shots but have been experimenting with other things as well. I really started enjoying photography when I got my 1st digital camera in 2002 (a 2 mega pixel Canon A200). I found it allowed me to take pictures without the financial penalty for bad shots. In addition it doesn't result in stacks of photos crammed into boxes in closets slowly getting ruined over time. I'm currently using a Canon XSi. Previously I was using a Canon S3IS which is truly a great little camera.

Software:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0
- Image editing and organization. I'm very happy with this software package. It's well worth the money.

GIMP 2.6
- Free Image Editing Software. It does some things that Elements doesn't do and it does some things just a little differently than Elements. If I don't get the results I want using Elements I try GIMP. It really is a free photoshop. It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, and more. I highly recommend that everyone try it!
