I'm 72 years old.
I've always been interested in photography, taking lots of photos of my 2 sons when they were young, railway pictures, sunsets, the Irish Sea, all sorts. But my main subject when I got my first digital camera was my first dog,Bonzo. After losing her in August 2005, I still took plenty of photos, mainly of my granddaughter who was 2 at the time. When I got my new dog,Benjy, the springer spaniel,he quickly became my favourite subject.

I've made so many friends though Flickr and the interchange of comments and photography styles is really special to me.
I've been taking photos for over 40 years, and although I was a dedicated SLR man, I am now even more dedicated to digital photography, and have learned so much from the facility to see your results instantly and see how you could have taken a better picture. billnbenj's flickr score: 2279

"After enjoying Bill & Benjy's photosteam for several months, a testimonial seems well overdue.
Thanks to Bill I now really want to visit How Tun Woods. His captures there are superb, he has an excellent eye for detail.
I always enjoy his shots of Benjy who is a wonderfully photogenic dog as well as all his other canine friends.
Well done Bill, keep up the good work!"

"Bill was one of the first people to speak to me on Flickr (after I commented on one of his photos of Benjy). He is obviously a warm and caring person and is amazingly good at putting on a cheering comment just when you need one.
He has one of the most handsome dogs on Flickr and the love Bill showers on Benjy is obviously reciprocated. What's more, Bill takes good photos and Benjy is a great model!
Bill and Benjy are part of what makes Flickr a good place to be!"

"Bill and Benjy are great flickr friends of mine. They have a marvelous friendship with each other, too, which is reflected in their photos. Benjy is a star, of course, a magnificent dog. Bill's photography is always inspiring and his "other than Benjy" photos are excellent as well!"

"Whatever the weather, you can be sure that Bill and Benjy will be walking through the woods with Bill taking his pictures! The photos really are a testament to the beauty of How Tun woods. The woods are a wonderful place to walk dogs and I think their essence is so encaptured in these beautiful pictures."

"I love seeing Benji's exploits at How Tun Woods. I hope to come back as a dog and have a life half as wonderful as this dog seems to have. These are not just sentimental photos of a dog, rather an honest, playful appreciation of the mind of a faithful friend(s). Bill will be so glad he has these pictures and years from now, I think these will be so appreciated. They show such a unique, simplistic way of life that so many of us take for granted."

"Almost every day without let up I am taken out for a walk with Bill and Benjy. I have been introduced to How Tun Woods and followed the seasons there. I have to say that his constant companion Benjy is a firm favourite with both my wife and I and Bill always tells us what is going on as Benjy goes about his daily meanderings.

I look forward to Bill's contributions each day and am never disappointed. Thanks Bill and keep it up.

"Bill has a passion for nature and takes the most beautiful photos and I really enjoy “sharing” his daily walks with his faithful friend Benji and all his canine friends he meets on his daily walks in How Tun Woods.
Bill takes the most magnificent natural photos of the different dogs he meets and the nature that goes on around him. There are beautiful views, amazing sky shots, insects, birds, changing of the seasons and so much more…
I highly recommend browsing Bill’s photographs. If you love animals, nature and dogs then these strictly cannot be missed.
I am so privileged to have met Bill and Benji and enjoy sharing their daily escapades and meeting their canine friends.

"I would like to say something about Bill and his wonderful photostream. Bill is a very talented photographer, he has a wonderful 'eye' for what makes a good picture. He is also very modest and much, much better at all this than he thinks he is. Though his love for nature and landscapes shines through in his photo's he does also like to stretch himself and try new things. There are often wonderful surprises to be found in his stream. He also takes many pictures of his faithful companion Benjy and the love he has for his four legged friend is plain to see. I know that Benjy brings Bill great joy. Most of all Bill is a lovely kind and very witty man, a true gentleman and i always look forward to seeing any new additions to his stream. I would recommend anybody to enjoy taking the time to see Bill's pictures, I'm sure that you will be as captivated as i am"
