I was born and raised in Northern California, specifically the San Francisco Bay Area, more specifically the town of Piedmont. I attended the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with a degree in History. In 2000 I moved to Vienna, Austria, to be with my now-wife; we married in June 2001. We have a daughter named Emily.

Though I program computers by day, my main "extra-curricular" interest is German and Austrian History (sounds rather intra-curricular, I know!)
