William T. Ayton is a British-born artist living in Rhinebeck, upstate New York. He attended Edinburgh College of Art, where he studied drawing & painting. He then lived for several years in Madrid & Paris. In 1994, he moved to the USA & lived for 7 years in Brooklyn. He now lives in pastoral Hudson Valley beauty with wife Diana Ayton-Shenker & 3 children.

Ayton is probably best known for his series of 30 drawings & paintings illuminating the Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Completed in the early 1990s, these artworks have been widely seen in Europe & the USA.

Other career highlights include: Op-Ed illustration in the NY Times (2001), Museum on the Seam, Jerusalem "Bare Life" show (2007), poetry/art book with Eliot Katz, "Love, War, Fire, Wind" (2009)...and much more...

Among more recent projects is the visual noir novel, "Shadow Bay", done in collaboration with writer Donald J. Rothschild.

He recently completed the chapbook project, "Scenes from The Puppet Oresteia" with New Zealand poet Jack Ross.

Ayton is currently working with several other artists on various creative projects.
