Dear Boris,
There's an East London. And a South one. A lot of people live there, people for whom riding a bike isn't a press photo opportunity.
The bendy buses aren't the criminal here. The majority of the cyclist's problems lie with:
Disastrously dangerous poorly maintained roads. (and it's not just the 'gutter'. Sunken manholes & drains, ridges and bumps, crevasses, broken curbs.)
People parking in green boxes at traffic lights.
People parking in cycle paths.
Badly conceived cycle lanes and paths.
Mobile phone-talking/texting drivers.
All of these photographs are of "Red Routes" (road maintained by Transport For London).
