Well hello folks, it's Big Al Davies, on flickr in some way since 2004, yes, I remember this place before anyone else in Wales was here then I got all my pals to join, most have gone but I've stayed and met people from all over the world because of it.
Peace and love and photography and music.

"Now Al goes taking photos to entertain his friends
He wears a fez and plays a uke, the good fun never ends
Now his photostream it just suits me
He makes me laugh, you will agree
It's great to see the things we see
When Al goes taking photos.
To be sung to the tune of When I'm Cleaning Windows by George Formby and played on the uke, of course (even though George played a banjolele)
Thanks for being my contact Big Al, your stream is a joy to visit :)"19th September, 2011

"Mix a memory of youth, a heart of love and a magnet of musical inspiration and you have
Al.. Large as life and twice as sweet."2nd August, 2011

MonoCassette says:
"From Wales, Al invites you into his world. His Flickr stream, (of which I'm sure is managed by moonlighting garden gnomes) is a gregarious mixture of his fine photographs, classic pop music, unhinged ukes, crazy collage and even krazier kiosks. He's Big Al Davies: The Ace Fez!"

Auntie P says:
"Wales' answer to Martin Parr, and then some (which he made up). You can wade through a stream of whimsy and nonsense, then get smacked in the face by something of outrageous beauty; something of perfect light and composition; or something that will make you almost want to cry.
He's also a lovely guy and my friend.
And whatever it was I said last time, and the time before, and ...
It's all here folks. Check it out NOW ... before he disappears up his own fez again. You have been warned."8th April, 2008

"The thing with Big Al deleting all the time is you have to re-write a testimonial but the advantage is you are left with multiple testimonials from Al , :)
So anyway, history, Big Al got me hooked on flickr over 2 years ago he showed me how to make friends and not take it all too seriously even though we both take it too seriously some days, I didnt know the man growing up but wish I had, but I know him now and Big Al is so full of talent, art and has a massive heart he wears on his fez ( or sleeve ) he doesnt think enough of himself but his friends love him for who he is, Rudry's working class hero :)"15th December, 2007

"I like Guinness more than I like Big Al but that still leaves a lot of room to like Big Al.
He's deep, he's meaningful, he's the Rudry inhabitant most likely to win a Nobel prize. And he makes me smile more often than almost anyone else. Keep on rocking Al. Flickr needs you."27th November, 2007
