Art gallery shows include:
Tacoma Community College annual juried show, Sept 2011 and 2010, Highline Community College in March 2011 "99 Coelacanths." Tacoma Community College 'Post Pop' show January -May 2011, and Portland Oregon's Redux shop 'Lovesick' show in February 2011.

I use hand embroidery, fibers, and vintage fabrics to create my work. Many things inspire me, colors, textures, fabrics, the natural world. I am also inspired by the clean outlines of animation design, printmaking and multiples, and a fierce love of color.

I like embroidery for the very deliberate aspect of doing each stitch, for the small hint of danger in working with a sharp needle, and for the tactile quality of working both on the surface and through the surface. I enjoy creating unconventional images with embroidery.

I am attracted to working on series, and recently completed a series of fourteen embroidered pieces based on Florence +the Machine's recent album "Lungs."

An earlier series, “99 Coelacanths,” uses the simple image of a coelacanth, a primitive fish thought extinct for 70 million years. The coelacanth, with its lobed fins and eternally open mouth, is lumpy and out of the ordinary. Both the fish and the vintage piece of embroidery I stitch on it have an unknown history, are enigmatic.
