"Mallarme said that everything in the world exists in order to end in a book. Today everything exists to end in a photograph."
-Susan Sontag, On Photography

A moment of deep poise in the midst of madness. An image encapsulating the essence of one's introspection. I understand and practice photography as an exploration of the photographer's psyche by delving into the mystery of the objective other. As such, photography is an artistic tool to assert and unravel the mystery of existence; it is a subtle way of evoking response from the surface to reveal what's beneath or within oneself.

The investment of one's subjectivity in the visual form of a style, subject, texture, tone and the overall structuring of the elements within the frame usually termed as "composition" is an aspect that I consider essential to art photography.

Until photographs begin to speak a language of their own we cannot call them works of art. The fundamental task of the photographer is to learn to speak this universal language, and as he begins to speak it well he embarks upon his greatest challenges.

"You seem to belong to the encouraging tribe of young photographers who are getting creative and look for beauty in locations that many ignore. The use of digital cameras and micro lenses help them. Your picture of the man holding his newly-bathed child in one hand and the coloured clothes in another impressed me. So did your crow with the gaping beak."
