14 January 2012, I turned a new chapter of my life. 1&half years ago, I didn’t know how to cook, I self-taught, and started taking photos of my cooking. 2 & half months ago, I got a job in the region’s best restaurant, starting from the bottom. Today, I received offer letter to study culinary arts at Tafe (Australia). It will take 2 years for me to complete the course part-time, but I get to cook for my family everyday.
Everything else was a past, including my severe post-natal depression, & depression as the result of total change of lifestyle & moving country. I had a Master degree in Architecture & used to work as a hospitality style designer.
I love fresh seasonal produce. We keep a veggie patch, growing heirloom vegetables & gourmet vegetable. My dream is to become a chef or cookbook author.
I'm 3rd generation Chinese born in Malaysia, lived most of my life in Singapore and became a Singaporean, I currently reside in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

I came across your pictures and they are in one word, BEAUTIFUL. Then, I read your story and I think you are a brave woman.
I started Cucina Carolina years ago as I love to cook. Last year my wife encouraged me to start my Food Blog. I had written many many entries and unfortunately last month when buying my new Apple Mac I lost it all. I am now going to open my own deli and that takes a lot of time. I am trying to add blog entries again, but it is hard work.
I know how difficult it must be for you to raise two little ones and cook and make such beautiful photo's.
But, believe me that there are unknown people to you, who appreciate what you do. I am one of them.
I found it funny to read that you are Chinese, born in Malaysia and living in Australia. I am Dutch and have a Dutch mother and Eurasian father (he was born in Indonesia), lived in The Netherlands and Italy and now since 2003 in South Africa. I had a dream to write my own cooking book and my first photo / cooking book will be the one in the new deli. I make this book through Apple. You might want to do something similar. My recipes started with world-wide memories of recipes as I believe memories are the way we hold onto the things we love, the things we are and the things we never want to lose.
