I got into this Flickr thing as a place to stash photos for faraway friends, but its become something entirely different.

I've lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1994. An Australian by birth and at heart, I spent most of my childhood in Australia, but I've been in the US since 1989, usually with trips back to Australia every once in a while.

Photography has always seemed like magic to me and still does. I hope that never changes.

I'm a gear head by nature, but the cameras I use are dictated by budget as much as anything else. This keeps me from getting overly gear-obsessed. :)

Gear doesn't take photos, but in case you're wondering...

I used an Olympus E-500 DSLR for about a year. I loved the build quality and features on the camera but decided to switch to Nikon in November 2007 after I started hanging out with a bunch of other Nikon shooters.

Now I use a Nikon D40x and as of September 2008 a D90, and am working on my DX lens collection.

Photography has never let me down.

Some of my favorite photos are no good, and some good photos are not my favorites.

I put all kinds of pics up on Flickr and I welcome comments on all my photos.

If I mark you as a friend, most of the time it's because, well, we're friends or could be. But sometimes its just because I want you to be able to see my friends & family images. Don't be weirded out. :)

If you invite me to join a group and I don't join, please don't be offended. I have a hard time keeping up with posting to groups so these days I try to only join those I think I will honestly participate in. Because I am lazy. :)

If you would like to use a photo for any purpose please ask for permission. I'm pretty liberal with rights depending on the use, but I retain full copyright to all images unless you have explicit permission from me to use a particular image.
