I resisted it for as long as I could, but finally I bought a DSLR.

See, sometimes I look at something and I say to myself, "Self, that there thingie looks pretty nifty. You ought to share an image of that thingie with people." I resisted. I thought up excuses. “It’s too low light for my point-and-shoot,” I told myself. “Auto-focus couldn’t possibly pick the right point. I don’t have l33t f0t0 sk1llz like my friends do. I don’t have time.”

Finally, though, I stopped making excuses and decided to find the time and develop the skills, and I started by buying a decent camera. I didn't have the money for a top-of-the-line one, but I figure a consumer-grade DSLR should be able to get me pretty far.

I’m doing this to learn. Constructive criticism is always very welcome.
