Hiya.

I came here to share a few memories with friends, and (re-?)discovered that there's so much more to photography than just a few oddities picked up along the path. There's a whole world of beauty, of grittiness and emotion, of night and day out there. And I'm now trying to take some of all that home, just to get it out again over the copper wires.

My dad gave my brother and me an Exakta with a 50mm lens when I was a kid. I remember taking photos using that, though I don't know where they are. Anyway, that sparked the whole thing, and in the periods when I didn't have a camera, something was missing. At some point I had a Yashica 230AF -- a state of the art film autofocus SLR. Took a nondescript Samsung film compact to India, as well as a Sony P50. A Lumix LX2 re-opened my eyes a bit. Now I enjoy the freedom of a DSLR, and my collection of film cameras is growing.

But hey in the end it's not about gear. It's about ideas, vanishing points, emotions, nature, abstracts, light, and most of all about fun.

A note on comments. These are most welcome, with the exception of one kind. Copied and pasted group invitations without any actual content somehow put me off a bit. Especially when they contain an image. Everyone can do as they please -- I just don't like them. These will be deleted without any further comment. Take it easy please, and feel free to leave comments that are related to the photo.
