Lived in Boston, Lincs until I was 19 and then moved to St Austell, Cornwall with parents. Went to university in Cambridge between 1995-1999 and then moved to Beeston, Nottingham to study a masters degree. Began teaching in 2003.

Been using an SLR since 1987 but only just started using digital. I found it difficult to leave slide photography behind and begin a new way of working but I'm now in the swing of it. I enjoy landscape photography most and I find a peaceful morning in the Peak District or Yorkshire coast as the perfect antidote to my job as a teacher.

SLIDE TALK AT ROYAL BRITISH LEGION IN BEESTON ON FEB 10 - FLICKR USERS INVITED.
I know that in the modern world of flickr a 35mm slide film show might seem a bit quaint, but on Thursday 10th February 2011 (between 8-10pm) I will be having a 2 hour slide show at the Royal British Legion in Beeston. Any people who have supported my work on flickr (+ guests) are invited to come along. Most importantly, there is a bar and there is a 15 minute interval between 9-9.15 approx.

The show will be a showcase of my final work using 35mm slide film so all images will be new to anyone on flickr. Subject matter will be mostly landscapes of Nottingham/Derby area, Yorkshire, Peak District and Cornwall taken between 2007-2010.

The address of the venue is: Royal British Legion, 16 Hall Croft, Beeston, Nottingham. Cost is £3 each payable on the night. Start at 8pm prompt. Doors open 7.45pm.

This is part of the weekly meet for Beeston Camera Club but they are a friendly, welcoming bunch - honest!
